My desire to connect more deeply with my local environment guide me as I seek to forge intimate relationships with the River and generate new knowledge of the eco-systems I am directly or indirectly connected with in my everyday life.
Rivers are powerful, complex and animate networks of interdependent life that connects us all, creatures and humans alike. They are entities that shift, transform and carve out land masses to reach new places, allowing fish and other water creatures to travel long distances. They are also bearers of messages of ecological health through their ebbs and flows, their physical manifestations and their water level. These currents of life are in many cultures also connected to pleasure, play, physical and spiritual cleansing.
